Self Love in God: The Foundation of True Love
I was lost until I found myself. I was wandering in the dark, searching for a light. I was looking for love, but I didn't know what it was. I didn't know who I was, what I was, or why I was. I didn't know my identity, my purpose, or my destiny. I didn't know my strengths, my weaknesses, my talents, or my passions. I didn't know my dreams, my goals, my hopes, or my fears. I didn't know my past, my present, or my future. I didn't know myself in God, or God in myself.
Then I saw a glimpse of His light. It was bright, warm, and beautiful. It was the light of God, and God was the light. As the Bible says in 1 John 1:5, "God is light; in him there is no darkness at all." He was the source and the essence of light. He created me with His light, and He enlightened me with His light. He showed me the way, the truth, and the life. He shone in my heart, my mind, and my soul. He shone through my words, my actions, and my deeds. He shone in my beauty, my goodness, and my love.
When I saw His light, I saw myself. I saw my true self. I saw my true beauty, my true worth, and my true potential. I saw my true happiness, my true fulfillment, and my true meaning. I saw my true love, my true partner, and my true soulmate. I saw the one who complemented me, supported me, and challenged me. I saw the one who shared my faith, my values, and my vision. I saw the one who was my best friend, my confidant, and my lover. I saw the one who was my gift from God, my blessing from God, and my reflection of God.
Self love in God was the foundation of true love. With self love, I loved God with all my being. With self love, I loved others as myself. With self love, I loved myself as God loved me. With self love, I found true love in God and in others. With self love, I experienced the fullness of God's love in my life. With self love, I lived in love, and loved in life.
