A TYPE OF LOVE
People ask me what type of love I like
They ask me what type of love I want.
And sometimes I am mute because how do I explain
That I want my lover and I flying to a new city and acting like we met on flight.
Kissing like psychopaths and praying until past 3 (midnight)
I want the love that I am into - such that every moment counts.
I want to say his name so often that his image is stuck in my head and “my husband” becomes my word of the year.
I want a purposeful love.
That he leads and loves me how God loves the church
And he winks and smiles at me when I am coming forth
That love that holds me in its arms and tell me I am enough when I have come short.
I want to say this but how do I tell people without sounding off.
That I want the love that’s the greatest of all three things to have.
1st Corinthians 13:13- And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
