Lead us not into temptation _ 2021

LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION.

I haven’t conquered fear. 

I cannot conquer emotions. 

To the world, there are some things I haven’t mentioned.

Because we all have enough flaws.

And some secrets; when told, become dangerous weapons.

Lead us not into temptation: 

Let us not rush when you begin building us.

Let’s learn to love so that envy doesn’t drown us.

Whenever we go astray, let guilt not conquer us. 

Let us not into temptation: 

That we may forgive those who wrong us. 

That we may never envy those who are before us. 

That we may respect everyone around us, regardless of where they belong. 

Lead us not into temptation:

Let us only chase after what belongs to us. 

Let covetousness not be end of us.  

Let guilt and the root of evil not be what designs us. 

Let forgiveness be what resides in us. 

Lead us not into temptation:

That we may love our family and spend time with them

That we may realize that dying isn’t when one stops to breathe

That we may know that (society's) narratives are worse than what's being perceived 

That we may understand that we are an army. 

And though one could grab a thousand, two can catch ten thousand. 

Let us not into temptation: 

So that we don’t hurt one another. 

So that we don’t become what is not your desire.

So that agony and pains doesn’t consume us. 

Lead us not into temptation:

So that our thoughts would bring you pleasure

So that our words would daily sing your praise

So that our actions do not bring reproach

So serving devil won’t be our pleasure.

Yes, remind us that you are a jealous God.

Help us love our neighbors as ourselves.

Dear Abba, in this modern prayer, let our heart align with your desires.
