Forever ep 2

Babe, you had one job, and it was to protect me, I said almost yelling into his face. Protect you? Protect you from something you didn’t tell me about? He questioned.

You know what, let’s just go home, he said as he picked his car keys from the table. I picked my bag and followed after him.

Without looking at my face, he started the car. I was going to tell you, I said softly. When was that? When was the telling going to be? He asked as he fumed.

Why don’t you just take it easy with me, every time I say something or do anything, you get peevish, I said to him. Forget it, he said as he took a right turn. I don’t want to let go of this one, I am tired of forgetting stuffs we ought to talk about, I responded.

Let it wait till we get home, I am driving, he commanded. Why do I always have to wait on you for everything? Why? I raised my voice.

Firstly, you don’t get to talk to me in a pitch as high as such. Secondly, keep this energy till we get in the house, the only one who throws surprises in here happens to be you, until you learn that this is a partnership, it’s just not going to make any sense, he ruled out.

I was going to make effort to reply when the horn from the car behind us blasted. I am driving, I have trouble driving while I am being distracted, let me focus, he said as he turned the steering wheel. I hissed slightly and turned my face towards the mirror.

Keep That attitude, he ruled out. With my nerves boiling, I hurried to get out of the car, I opened the door and dashed into the apartment. He parked and walked in slowly.

Look, I don’t know why you are angry or anything, I don’t want to deal with this right now, I am trying to hold my peace, I don’t want your drama all over the house. It’s sabbath day tomorrow and I intend bearing no grudges.

Drama? This is drama? I am trying to communicate, I answered him. Communication would have happened if I didn’t get surprised by your friends at a date night that we planned, communication would have occurred if you told me they would be there, this is no longer us dating. It’s a marriage. Don’t you get it?

You keep making me feel like I am not doing this right, I said to him. It’s not a competition, he responded sharply.

You haven’t made time for us in a while, I haven’t said anything because I understand, it’s your job making all that happen especially with the recent development, that’s fine.

I put in effort to make your days less tedious, I have work too, i am just helping you feel comfortable. The one time you think to make it up, your brought your entire circle of friends to our date night, think about it Dolapo, he spoke all at once.

You call me by name now, I said as I stole glances at him. That’s not the issue here, he replied sharply.
