REMINDING ME OF ALL I SHOULDN'T (FREEDOM)
.
You remind me of the things I don't like to remember.
My flaws and shortcomings
My faults and vulnerabilities
My morals and manners
My heart
Most of all, my love for you.
Now my mind races thousands of miles, thinking about division of our hearts.
They say when in love we become blind, That's true cos' I actually lost my sight.
But I can see clearly now.
You and I, our compromises, sacrifices and pains.
An unbalanced sheet of fate
Dead piece of destiny, something we cannot erase.
You remind me of stupidity
Of love in a naive heart.
My soul understands that some gifts ain't supposed to be kept
My soul also realizes that you were a key to some gates.
My heart is at rest, knowing it doesn't have to seek or call for you anymore.
My mind can comprehend what the world throws without you being there.
My legs don't run anymore... away from you or to you.
Because my eyes now sees that you were just a worldly pleasure, that continually entangled me in chains of distractions.
I can no longer smell your cologne.
My body is free from the pains of when I longed lust after you.
But I am not certain if my blood isn't connected to you because like the old days, I feel you in my veins.
Screaming out that we should hold onto some things.
But now, I bow my head.
Ignoring the sign,
Not ever wanting to return to the past.
I like the taste of freedom
It was the me before you.
The me in you
The me you wish but in a different dimension
I like the freedom of me after you.
Memories I have thrown away
Memories I still hold
Memories I never want to know.
Yes, you remind me of me.
But all that is but a memory!
