Ifunanya Nnem (Love of my Mother)

Like the stars adorn the skylines,  glistening stones on nature's crown 

So is mother’s love, empowering

Sit right, tell the truth, speak respectfully even when you disagree. 

Walk with regal grace she shows me,  

You my little princess will reign as queen someday she said.

  

Like  the warmth of the morning sun, 

So is mum’s love, revitalizing.

Clean your tears, you’ll get it right the next time

Mistakes and failures teach you lessons success will never, just learn 

She said.

Like the spring of life, flowing in and out of seasons. 

So is nne’s love, unending.

The excitement in her voice when she asks,

“What will you like to eat when you come home?”

From school, work,  travel,  my own home 

Like the cedars of Lebanon,

Her love is enduring.

She says this, I say that; she chooses this.

I choose what my peers approve.

Love was never withdrawn, never did it diminish.

As vast as the oceans and limitless like the air, 

Each day brings an encounter that fills you with wonder.

The love of a mother is a wondrous gift that keeps giving!"
